"Energia"
Ltd. manufactures mainly lead-acid traction cells. The tubular design of
the positive plate guarantees long service life.
The
improvements in the cell design through the years have brought it to meet
the International Electric Committee regulations.
The
cell is mounted in an impact-resistant polypropylene container. The lid is
heat-sealed to the container.
The
pole terminals are designed in two versions - for flexible and for welded
connection. The flexible connectors are bolted. This ensures easy assembly
and dismantling.
"Energia"
Ltd. offers 5 types of cells. The type is defined by the capacity of one
plate - 55, 70, 80, 100 and 120 Ah (at 5-hour rate of discharge - C5).
The
5 types of cells differ in capacity which depends on the number of
positive plates in a cell.
The
number of the positive plates in a cell varies from 3 to 8.
The
number of the negative plates is the same plus one more which consists of
2 negative plates half as thin as the rest.
The
positive and negative plates are insulated by a microporous separator
combined with a perforated PVC one providing good electrolyte circulation
and
preventing short circuits.
